Breed History[]
The Black Backed Jackal is an ancient species that resides in two parts of Africa, along the southernmost tip and the eastern coastline. They are monogamous species and stay in family groups, which allow for better survival rates for pups. Unlike most canidae animals, the black backed jackal is an omnivore. This jackal is found in Khoikhoi lore were it is said that the black fur on its back is a saddle used to carry the sun. There are two subspecies of black backed jackal called the East African Black Backed Jackal and the Cape Black Backed Jackal. The black backed jackal is a highly vocal species and makes like yelling, yelping, woofing, whining, growling, and cackling. The species generally prefers open spaces to dense forests, but the species can occupy a wide range of habitats from alpine, open savanna, to farmlands. The Black Backed Jackal’s conservation status is currently at “least concern”.
Breed In Wasabi[]
The Black Backed Jackal was added to the Wasabi Dog Sim gameplay officially on July 1st, 2022 during alpha testing. The breed has 5 standard breed colors in the game with currently 6 color-modifying sushi. Within the game, the breed is considered a Wild group breed and can thus enter competitions listed as Wild-group only.
The Black Backed Jackal i is a purchasable-only breed, which requires a breed permit purchased from the Premium Shop for real money or SuperBones, a paid-for game currency. The permit allows players to adopt, breed, and sale/buy Black Backed Jackal year-round to other players with the Black Backed Jackal permit too. Without a breed permit, you cannot adopt or buy Black Backed Jackal. Permits for the Black Backed Jackal can only be purchased during the month of July. Breed specific random events will be added to Black Backed Jackal in the future, but for now, its price is discounted due to this soon-to-be-added feature. The Black Backed Jackal is adopted from the pet shop with extra genetic potential skill points in each skill, making them more likely to achieve excellent offspring sooner in gameplay.
Breed Stats[]
Each dog breed within Wasabi Dog Sim is given their own breed bonuses to their breed stats based upon realistic dog breed standards. Each breed is awarded two "High" bonus stats, two "Average" bonus stats, one "Above Average" bonus stat, and one "Low" bonus stat. Inugami are naturally born with possibility of higher than average breed stats than other breeds. This helps balance the gameplay upon the various dog breeds within the game and as helps prevent pet shop born puppies stick close to the breed standard upon entry into the game. Listed below are the bonuses awarded to this breed upon creation:
