Breed History[]
The Ibizan Hound was developed to hunt rabbits and other small game on the Balearic island of Ibiza. Their erect ears and long legs help them expertly locate and chase down prey. They can also jump from a standstill. Today, they are commonly used in dog sports like lure coursing, tracking, agility, and conformation. You may find this breed is familiar looking because they bear a striking resemblance to the Egyptian deity, Anubis. While this breed did not originate from Egypt themselves, Egyptian hounds are their ancestors. The America Kennel Club recognized this breed in 1978. Despite this, they still remain a relatively rare breed. While the breed still needs quite a bit of exercise and enjoys engaging in dog sports, they can be couch potatoes inside the home.

The Ibizan Hound was added to the Wasabi Dog Sim gameplay officially on June 1st, 2022 during alpha testing. This breed was sponsored by player Revi. Within the game, the breed is considered a Hound breed group and can thus enter competitions listed as Hound-group only.
