Breed History[]
The Pulik (plural Puli), also known as the Hungarian Puli or Hungarian Water Dog, is a herding breed from Hungary. They’re an ancient breed that originated at least 2,000 years ago. They were believed to have been used to herd and drive sheep while the Komondor was used to guard the flocks because of their larger size. The Puli is known for their unique coat which is made up of cords. They aren’t born with these cords. Puli puppies have crimped fur that grows into fluff, and when they reach about one-year-old, the cords are separated. This process can take three to four months. The Puli breed has survived many hardships. When they almost when extinct in 1912, a professor at the Hungarian University created a program to save them from their dwindling numbers as the need for herding dogs decreased. Their popularity rose, which saved them from extinction again after World War II devastated the lives of many dog breeders.
Breed In Wasabi[]
The Puli was added to the Wasabi Dog Sim gameplay officially on December, 20th 2021 during alpha testing. The breed has 9 standard breed colors in the game with currently 2 color-modifying sushi. Within the game, the breed is considered a Herding breed group and can thus enter competitions listed as Herding-group only.
Breed Stats[]
Each dog breed within Wasabi Dog Sim is given their own breed bonuses to their breed stats based upon realistic dog breed standards. Each breed is awarded two "High" bonus stats, two "Average" bonus stats, one "Above Average" bonus stat, and one "Low" bonus stat. This helps balance the gameplay upon the various dog breeds within the game and as helps prevent pet shop born puppies stick close to the breed standard upon entry into the game. Listed below are the bonuses awarded to this breed upon creation:
