Breed History[]
The Shetland Sheepdog, also known as the Sheltie, is a herding breed from the Shetland Islands in Scotland. This breed is more compact than their bigger cousin, the Collie, because it means the breed eats less. This breed was bred smaller while having the harsh, cold climate in mind. Because the breed was created on an isolated island, they were not known to the rest of Britain until the 20th century. They help on farms by alerting to strangers, barking at birds in the garden, and keeping flocks of sheep together. Sadly, because of the Shelties long, dense coat, many of them are taken to shelters and rescue groups every year just because they shed. The breed is also very rare in their original home of the Shetland Islands and have been replaced by Border Collies!
Breed in Wasabi[]
The Shetland Sheepdog was added to the Wasabi Dog Sim gameplay officially on Oct. 1st 2021 during alpha testing. This breed was sponsored by player Revi. The breed has standard breed colors in the game with currently 1 color-modifying sushi. Within the game, the breed is considered a Herding breed group and can thus enter competitions listed as Herding-group only.
