Sport Learned Skill Suggestions
Every show type in the Wasabi Dog Sim game considers not only the dog's trained skills, but their socialization skills and breed bonuses too. This makes selecting the right show type for your dog to compete in important, but sometimes challenging. When you are training your dog to compete in a new show type, you will see the sport name bolded. These bolded sport types are the three sports most recommended by a professional dog trainer for your dog to train in because they already have skills that count towards the perform of this sport. However, you can train in whichever sport you like and as many as you like, regardless.
Charted below are the recommended trained skill sets for each show type within the game. If you would rather play without knowing this information, please do not display the chart below.

Sport Genetic Potential Suggestions
When conducting a genetic test on your dog, you will see a chart called Genetic Potential. These numbers listed in this chart show your dogs genetic potential towards certain traits. The higher the number, the better the dog's potential to excel in sports that favor that trait. Genetic potential can only be gained a few ways and thus it is more difficult to accumulate than learned skills, which can just be trained. Genetic potential is gained through the dog's breed bonuses that are pre-awarded by the game at birth, the use of gene modify sushi, or through careful breeding to increase or decrease certain traits.
Below is a chart showing the favored genetic potential traits for each sport. This really lends to what breeds will be naturally successful in certain sports. If you would rather play without knowing this information, please do not display the chart below.

Sport Socialization Suggestions
Not only does every sport consider the overall skills and traits of your dog, it also considers your dog's previous socialization history. Socialization is a unique category because it is only easily influenced when your dog is a puppy. If you adopted a dog from the pet shop, your puppy will come with a pre-selected socialization history, which overtime, can be slightly altered by their experiences out in the world, but this process takes much longer than addressing it when they are still young puppies with their mother. When you breed a litter of puppies, you will be able to influence their social skills from the very first day they are born by positively exposing them to different situations and objects. Socialization, however, is a double edged sword and your dog could take your socialization attempt as negative or positive. So, this process can be risky and have the reverse effect you were hoping for.
Below is a chart showing the favored social skills for each sport. If you would rather play without knowing this information, please do not display the chart below.

Certifications
In Wasabi, you can also earn two different types of certifications from two different temperament test-style exams; Ranch Dog and Therapy Dog. These certifications are not easily earned and look at nine different socialization traits and an accumulated score of 50 learned skill points total, rather than genetic potential or certain learned skill stats like other sport types. The exams are also given via evaluators on the Career Center page - not via the Show Circuit. The exams are pass or fail and players can attempt the exam once per day per dog.
The Ranch Dog certification is not a herding title, but a temperament test for ranch dogs who live on farms or ranches with various animals and farm chores happening. The dog will need to pass nine socialization skill checks to pass the exam and earn the Ranch Dog Certification title. Your Ranch Dog evaluator will look at the dog's ability to handle strangers, other dogs, small animals, farm animals, new textures, new environment, pet professionals, sounds, and training equipment to decide whether or not to pass your dog, as well as an accumulated score of 50 learned skill point total.
The Therapy Dog certification is another temperament test for dogs seeking to visit hospitals, nursing homes, schools, etc. for the purpose of providing therapy to the residents/students. The dog will need to pass nine socialization skill checks to pass the exam and earn the Therapy Dog Certification title. Your Therapy Dog evaluator will look at the dog's ability to handle strangers, children, other dogs, pet professionals, training equipment, medical equipment, sounds, new environments, and household items to decide whether or not to pass your dog, as well as an accumulated score of 50 learned skill point total.
When your dog passes, it will be added as an achieved title to their dog profile and you will earn a ribbon for each title. Additionally, this will allow your dog to apply for a daily job specific to their certification once daily at the Career Center. Completed jobs earn the player Bones, the in-game currency.
Showing Tips
Some recommendations on show and show creation:
- Train your dogs for the shows you can run that day so, they place higher due to more training so, less shows are needed to title.
- Explore entering other show types rather than your focus because the training skills used by various show types improve when you do. Ex. Herding and Treibball are similar in requirements. Can't find a show in one? Train in the other, which will help you in the long run for both show types once you see shows for your more desired one.
- Rotate days for your own dogs. A player with several dogs can work to get to Masters and then stop training them in that show type until they get more Masters dogs of the same show type and know their shows will run easily because they have a bunch of dogs ready to compete in that event. In real life, there are on and off seasons for shows and it is expected you will not always get points when you want them because there will be no events of that type happening in off season.
- These dogs also live for six months. That is plenty of time to reach Champion, so remember you don't need to show every single day to do that.
- Interact with other players and ask them to help you make certain shows you want if they have show spots available for the day.
- Help other players by entering show types that you are not interested in to make sure their shows run and you get a few show points in the process too.
- Don't make shows right before the day change at 12am CST and expect a lot of entries right before the shows run.
The biggest overall complaints we are seeing are usually when players are attempting to "lone wolf" what is intended as a community-based game. In order to have the best game experience and get ahead in the game, you will need to ask other players for help in this game.
